Each year during its Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE), SPE honors members whose outstanding contributions to the Society and the petroleum industry merit special distinction. Recipients will be recognized at the Annual Awards Banquet on 22 October.

Spending plans announced by oil and gas companies indicate that about 80% of their budgets are directed toward traditional E&P, efforts to reduce emissions and carbon footprints, and sustainable investment in new energy. It is reasonable to expect that with these budget increases, there will be an uptick in the employment of petroleum professionals. -

The Petroleum Resources Management System (PRMS) has long been recognized as the global standard reference for resources and reserves classification and definition. The newly published “2022 Guidelines for Application of the PRMS” is not merely a refresh of the 2011 version but a complete rewrite by contemporary subject-matter experts.
