The Association of Oil, Gas, and Renewable Energy and Companies of Latin America and the Caribbean (Arpel) and SPE have signed a memorandum of understanding to foster knowledge exchange and seek synergies in technical activities and projects relevant to the oil and gas industry.
Carlos Garibaldi, executive secretary of Arpel, and Simon Seaton, CEO of SPE, signed the collaboration agreement on 20 February.
Among the objectives of both organizations is the promotion of initiatives aimed at the economic growth, regulatory improvement, operational excellence, social and environmental sustainability, as well as human resource development and better knowledge management in the oil, gas, and energy industry.
Currently, SPE has 132,000 members in 146 countries and its mission is to connect the global community of engineers, scientists, and related energy professionals to exchange knowledge, innovate, and advance their technical and professional competence regarding the exploration, development, and production of oil, gas, and related energy resources to achieve a safe, secure, and sustainable energy future.
