Christiaan Luca

Christiaan Luca, SPE, is partner and senior consultant at Community Wisdom Partners (www.communitywisdompartners.com), a consultancy based in Barcelona and Amsterdam. Its mission is to assist both companies and nongovernmental organizations in developing sustainable relationships with the communities in which they operate. He is also course director and instructor at PetroSkills on the topic of managing nontechnical risk. Luca completed a long career at Shell, initially in petroleum engineering in various countries, and then at corporate office in strategy and planning and sustainable development. In his last position, he designed and implemented Shell’s global nontechnical risk management program. He holds a BSc degree in mining engineering and an MSc degree in petroleum engineering from Delft University in the Netherlands. Luca was SPE Distinguished Lecturer on the topic of nontechnical risk management during 2018–2019.
