Seth M. Nelson

Seth Nelson is a research engineer for the Fluids Engineering Department at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) where he functions as both a project manager and as a technical resource for experimental studies. Over the past 5 years, he has been involved with projects ranging from multiphase flowmeter characterization, liquid entrainment studies, gas/liquid separation, liquid/liquid separation, sand screen erosion, and relief valve stability. Prior to joining SwRI, he worked for Halliburton as an openhole wireline engineer for nearly 3 years throughout south Texas. He holds bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and mathematics from Iowa State University. He currently serves as the administrative chairperson for STTS and is heavily involved with the Separation Technology Research (STAR) program at SwRI. He can be reached at seth.nelson@swri.org.
