The Offshore Technology Conference Asia (OTC Asia) has announced the recipients of its 2026 Distinguished Achievement Awards, Heritage Award, Special Citation, and Emerging Leader Award. These honors recognize outstanding innovation, leadership, and contributions that continue to shape the offshore energy industry across Asia and beyond.
Reflecting the pioneering spirit and dedication of both individuals and organizations, the awards highlight achievements that are advancing technology, sustainability, and industry excellence. The 2026 recipients will be formally recognized during the OTC Asia Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, 31 March, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
OTC Asia Distinguished Achievement Award for Individuals
Changgui Xu, vice chief exploration engineer, chief geologist, and scientist of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), will be honored for his scientific leadership and contributions to offshore oil and gas exploration. His work has driven major deepwater and deep-layer discoveries, advancing exploration efficiency and strengthening offshore energy development in Asia.
OTC Asia Distinguished Achievement Award for Companies, Organizations, and Institutions
CNOOC will be presented with the Distinguished Achievement Award for Companies, Organizations, and Institutions for the Bohai oil field heavy-oil thermal recovery project. This world-first offshore heavy-oil thermal recovery breakthrough has enabled large-scale, economically viable production while setting new global benchmarks in engineering innovation, safety, and low-carbon offshore development.
OTC Asia Heritage Award
Chen Kah Seong will receive the OTC Asia Heritage Award in recognition of his longstanding service, leadership, and contributions to the offshore energy industry, reflecting a legacy of dedication, professional excellence, and commitment to industry advancement.
OTC Asia Special Citation
OTC Asia will also present a Special Citation to Samsung Heavy Industries for its SENSE LNG technology, recognizing its innovative next-generation floating LNG solution. The technology demonstrates enhanced energy efficiency, operational reliability, and deployability through successful large-scale testing, contributing to the advancement of offshore LNG development.
OTC Asia Emerging Leader Award
Isra Abbasi, executive (remote and autonomous operations), Petronas Carigali, will be recognized with the Emerging Leader Award for her contributions in remote and autonomous operations. Her work has delivered measurable value through digital innovation while advancing operational excellence, safety, and sustainability in upstream operations.
OTC Asia 2026 is expected to attract thousands of offshore energy professionals, industry leaders, policymakers, and technical experts from around the globe.
