Petronas has inked strategic collaboration agreements with Halliburton, Valaris, SLB’s OneSubsea, and Subsea7 focused on activity offshore Suriname.
On 7 April, SLB and Subsea 7 announced Petronas had signed the agreement with the Subsea Integration Alliance, which comprises SLB OneSubsea and Subsea7. That agreement establishes a long-term framework for collaboration in Suriname across the project life cycle, enabling early involvement to co-develop and co-create cost-effective solutions, accelerate field development, and enhance project economics, SLB said.
Subsea7 said the collaboration aims to simplify complex procurement processes, reduce total development costs, and enhance delivery certainty.
Under the framework, Subsea Integration Alliance may provide pre-front-end engineering and design (FEED), FEED, and engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning solutions for multiple discoveries in Suriname. The scope includes subsea umbilical, riser, and flowlines from Subsea7, and subsea production systems from SLB OneSubsea.
On 6 April, Halliburton and Valaris announced they had entered a strategic collaboration agreement to establish a collaborative framework across the project life cycle, including early-stage planning, technical integration, and continuous improvement initiatives for Petronas Suriname’s offshore assets.
The agreement brings together Valaris’ offshore drilling experience and fleet, Petronas Suriname’s project stewardship and basin knowledge, and Halliburton’s subsurface, well construction, and digital solutions.
Halliburton said that through early integration, the collaboration links subsurface evaluation and field development planning with digital well construction to provide clear visibility into each stage of the development workflow from concept to execution.
Last November, Petronas declared commerciality for its Sloanea field in its operated Block 52 offshore Suriname. Declaring commerciality marked the operator’s first gas development milestone offshore Suriname and indicated the project could progress from discovery to development, subject to the final investment decision, expected this year. Petronas also holds interest in seven other blocks offshore Suriname.
