Simon Richards joined Hill International’s construction claims and consulting group as a technical director, specializing in the upstream oil and gas industry. With a background in processing engineering, he has 27 years of experience in operating, consulting, and contracting organizations. He is a member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and a chartered engineer in the United Kingdom. As a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Richards serves on the Production, Facilities, and Construction (PFC) Advisory Committee and is the chairman of the SPE PFC Technical Interest Group. He serves on the editorial board of SPE’s Oil and Gas Facilities magazine and was a past executive editor of the Projects, Facilities, and Construction Journal. Richards holds a BS degree with honors in chemical engineering from Birmingham University, UK.
