Stuart Murchie, SPE, and Lucas Mezzano, SPE, were appointed senior and junior chairman, respectively, of the Intervention and Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA) board of directors. Murchie was the junior chair for the past 2 years. Mezzano has been a member of the board of directors for the past 5 years.
Murchie is the president for Middle East Asia Pacific and executive vice president of technology commercialization at Altus Intervention. He has more than 35 years of experience in the upstream industry. Having worked in well testing, wireline, data services, integrated project management, and slickline sectors, he has been involved in well intervention for the past 10 years. Murchie holds a BSc degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Dundee, Scotland.
Mezzano is the commercial director for the Coiled Tubes Division at Tenaris. He has 25 years’ experience working in upstream activities. He started in the artificial lift area, moving later to drilling-related oilfield services, and has worked in the well intervention and completions area for the past 15 years. Mezzano has previous experience with industry associations and was the former chairman of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada.
