Leviathan

One of the largest deepwater gas discoveries of the past decade moves closer to its expected startup at the end of the year, as 24,500 tonnes of topside units have been installed on the Leviathan platform offshore Israel. Operator Noble Energy expects to produce up to 1.2 Bcf/D from 4 subsea wells.

The second round will offer 19 offshore blocks clustered in five zones to continue natural gas development in the eastern Mediterranean’s Levant Basin.

The jacket, constructed in Texas over 18 months, completed the journey on a 180-m-long barge across the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean site in 28 days, arriving in late January.

Trendsetter Engineering completed its 2-year design and build work for Noble Energy’s Leviathan project.

GATE Energy is the most recent contract awardee for Noble Energy’s Leviathan project offshore Israel. It will provide the commissioning of the production platform for the megaproject.
