TC Energy is planning to start mobilizing heavy construction equipment to worker campsites and pipeline storage sites in Montana, South Dakota, and Nebraska in February to start preconstruction work on the Keystone XL Pipeline.

A decision by the US District Court in Montana deals a blow to the TransCanada project, which is designed to transport heavy crude from Alberta to Nebraska.

Weights used in the original construction of TransCanada’s Keystone Pipeline in South Dakota were identified as a preliminary cause of the failure that resulted in a 210,000-gal spill in November.

Petronas cancels plans for the development of the Pacific Northwest LNG project in British Columbia intended to take away natural gas from the Montney formation for shipping to Asian countries. Low LNG prices strike a blow to the feasibility of the project.
