Timothy C. Dugan, SPE, was selected as the new chief operating officer for Consol Energy’s exploration and production division. With more than 30 years’ experience across many major US gas fields, he previously worked at Chesapeake Energy, most recently serving as vice president of its Appalachia South business unit. Starting in 2009, Dugan directed Chesapeake’s operations in the Marcellus and Utica shales, with recently added responsibility for overseeing geology, drilling, completions, and reservoir planning. He also played a role in the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport natural gas development project. Before working with Chesapeake, Dugan served in key operational roles with Cabot Oil and Gas and EQT Corporation. Dugan earned a BS in chemical engineering, with an emphasis in petroleum engineering, from the University of Pittsburgh.
