SPE welcomes 261 members into the Legion of Honor recognizing 50 years of consecutive membership in the Society.
Flow measurement touches almost every phase of oil and gas operations. Yet the industry still struggles to distinguish between what is directly measured, what is inferred, and what is estimated through models, correlations, or assumptions. That distinction matters. A measurement does not need to be perfect to be useful, but it must be fit for purpose.
These outstanding young professionals are being celebrated for their work discovering, innovating, and sharing their knowledge, positively influencing and inspiring others.

Ten SPE sections have been awarded the 2023 SPE Presidential Award for Outstanding Section, the highest honor a section can receive.

The winners of this year’s Drillbotics competition are teams from the University of Stavanger and Clausthal University of Technology. Thirteen teams registered last fall, coming from seven countries spanning four continents.
