The Energy Workforce & Technology Council's report released 11 September shows steady employment growth in the US energy services sector, with total jobs reaching 629,435 in August—an increase of 2,989 from July.
Despite adjustments to US Bureau of Labor Statistics data, which revised overall employment numbers to around 630,000, the sector added nearly 3,000 jobs.
Texas leads the workforce with 306,724 jobs, followed by Louisiana (52,558), Oklahoma (47,900), and Colorado (25,555).
“The August job gains underscore the ongoing strength and adaptability of the energy services sector. Despite broader economic challenges, our industry continues to provide opportunities driven by innovation and the essential role of energy services in supporting our nation’s energy needs,” said Energy Workforce President Molly Determan.
