Brad Bass
University of TorontoBrad Bass is an assistant professor with the School of the Environment at the University of Toronto. He holds MS and PhD degrees in geography from The Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Toronto. Since receiving his PhD, Bass has held research and policy analyst positions with the federal government and has been continuously associated with the University of Toronto since 1995. His research has encompassed green infrastructure (his work on energy conservation and urban heat island reduction factored into the development of the green roof by-law in the City of Toronto), the cost of water pollution in the Great Lakes, the optimization of energy supply based on the second law of thermodynamics and agent-based modeling. Currently, Bass was the lead in the development of the COBWEB software and trained university and secondary school students in using it for research.
