A recent IHS Markit report states that global solar photovoltaics (PV) installations are estimated to have reached 181 gW, direct current in 2021. Asia Pacific leads the overall global PV installation forecast with China (mainland) leading the way with a total share of 36%. The US leads residential installations with a global share of 19%.
