One of the biggest discoveries in the past decade, Sangomar, moves closer to sanction as operator Woodside and its joint venture partners submit the plan for the field's development. First oil from Senegal's first offshore development is scheduled for 2023.

The pipeline is the first step in developing the infrastructure needed to transport gas between Pluto LNG and the Karratha Gas Plant in Western Australia. Woodside is targeting 2022 startup.

Australia's largest independent has commissioned production from its $1.9 billion offshore project. Greater Enfield is expected to produce 41 MMboe for Woodside, contributing to its targeted annual production of 100 MMboe next year.

The $30.5-billion project is expected to produce 18 mtpa of LNG once it starts up; commissioning is expected sometime in the mid-2020s. Canada’s investment includes $160 million to fund energy-efficient turbines, which the government says will minimize greenhouse gas emissions.

Woodside has invested in Sapien Cyber, a Western Australian company specializing in the protection and security of critical infrastructure.

The 15-year agreement will send gas from the Pluto LNG facility to a mineral sands project in Western Australia. The joint venture will own and operate a road tanker fleet to transport the LNG.
