John M. Walsh

John Walsh, PhD, SPE, has worked as a water specialist for the upstream oil and gas industry for more than 30 years. He has recently published a book, Produced Water. He is currently a principal technologist for Worley, Advisian. Prior, he was the director of R&D for CETCO Energy Services. In 2010, he retired from Royal Dutch Shell where he worked for 21 years. He was the global upstream water subject matter expert. Until recently, he was the president of the Produced Water Society. He served on the SPE Board of Directors and is a designated instructor for SPE courses. He holds a PhD in chemical engineering from the Johns Hopkins University.
