The two companies have entered a commercial agreement in which Baker Hughes will use Oqton’s software to boost its 3D printing capabilities.

The supermajor and oilfield service company have teamed up for the second time in 4 years on the deployment of a new optimization software.

The company revealed programs for managing production and industrial asset performance. It also announced a collaboration aimed at enhancing rig visualization.

The company used an uncrewed surface vessel and an electric remotely operated vehicle to conduct a survey for TAQA in the North Sea.

The oil and gas industry uses a variety of complex systems and technologies that are becoming increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks. Now, through the Cyber Resilience Pledge, more than 20 global CEOs have committed to work together to improve cyber resilience across the ecosystem.

When the name change was announced on 24 October, the accompanying release said the SLB name was designed to underscore “the company’s vision for a decarbonized energy future and affirming its transformation from the world’s largest oilfield services company to a global technology company focused on driving energy innovation for a balanced planet.”

The company said it expects the software to enable greater standardization for its well and drilling teams in the well planning and well delivery process, improve communication and automation, and increase transparency of project-related risks and costs.

The service company said it plans to use DataRobot’s artificial intelligence capabilities in its production-optimization and well-construction digital platforms.

The data-management company has raised its investment in the technology company IWS by $7.9 million, with an agreement to invest an additional $25 million depending on the performance of IWS.

A recently signed memorandum of understanding is designed to let the two companies work together on digital transformation and decarbonization.
