SLB recently entered into an agreement to purchase the operations of data-visualization company Interactive Network Technologies (INT).
INT provides desktop and web-based domain data visualization for geoscientists, engineers, and data scientists.
SLB said it expects INT’s products to continue to expand and help further data access and visualization for energy industry operators, independent software vendors, and other oilfield services companies.
“INT is highly regarded by energy professionals as a best-in-class data visualization technology,” said Trygve Randen, SLB’s senior vice president for digital products and solutions. “We are excited about this acquisition, which is another step forward in providing open tools and platform technologies that power cutting-edge analytics and business intelligence for the energy industry.”
INT technology currently presents visualization of a wide range of energy industry data types, including well, log, and seismic interpretations. SLB said it plans to incorporate INT’s technology directly into SLB’s Delfi digital platform and Lumi data and AI platform to create a single, unified interface.
“In the past 35 years, we have pushed the limits of subsurface data visualization from traditional desktop to the cloud,” said Olivier Lhemann, president and founder of INT. “SLB has been leveraging INT technology for more than 25 years, and we believe that this acquisition is the natural next step in expanding the reach of our technology in the industry. I am truly excited about this next chapter.”
