Energy data company TGS has signed a strategic partnership with Norwegian oil firm Aker BP to contribute to digitalize the operations of the Yggdrasil oil and gas area in the North Sea. This agreement builds on collaboration between the two companies and focuses on improving field operations with advanced technology.

Aker BP will integrate TGS’ Prediktor Data Gateway into its digital ecosystem for Yggdrasil as a process data server. Aker BP has been using remotely controlled operations and unmanned production platforms in the Yggdrasil area.

“We are excited to deepen our relationship with Aker BP through this strategic partnership,” said Carel Hooijkaas, executive vice president of new energy solutions at TGS. “The Prediktor Data Gateway offers unique flexibility and efficiency, representing a new frontier in field operations. We look forward to its impact on the Yggdrasil area. This collaboration reflects our commitment to driving innovation in the energy sector and supporting our partners in achieving operational excellence.

The partnership underscores the critical role of digital innovation in optimizing asset operations. With the Prediktor Data Gateway, Aker BP can achieve greater control, leveraging real-time data from OT [operational technology] systems through an OPC-UA standard information model for improved decision-making.”

Prediktor Data Gateway is designed to adapt to the specific needs of Yggdrasil and provide scalable solutions that can grow with Aker BP’s needs.
