Zion Oil & Gas confirmed its drilling rig was set to depart Romania by ship on 21 October and arrive in the Haifa, Israel, port on 27 October, in preparation to spud the Megiddo-Jezreel #2 (MJ2) well. Located in the onshore 99,000‑acre Megiddo-Jezreel license area, the well will be drilled in Megiddo-Jezreel license 401; the project is expected to take 5 months from spud to target depth.

Zion’s Israeli operations have set the MJ2 conductor pipe to a depth of 110 ft. Cellar construction and additional finalization work continues at the site in preparation of the rig arrival and spud. Zion will use the same pad as the MJ1 well, which was determined not to be commercially viable in late 2018.
